BRIEF BIO

Daniel Merino Villavicencio is a Cuban American Filmmaker based in New York. His affinity for pop culture inspires his stylistic choices and allows him to tell memorable, eye-catching, character-driven stories.

His stories often highlight character who's stories audiences don't get to see enough of.

 

While getting his start in the industry, Daniel gained experience in every department, with a focus on cinematography, post, and production design. Although he works mainly with camera today, his past experiences give him a holistic perspective on the production process.

His short film, Sweet Pea & Glass has screened at film festivals all over New York with great reception.

Most notably winning the Festival of Cinema NYC's Audience Choice Award for best short film.

One of the most important things to Daniel is creating opportunities for emerging filmmakers to get on sets.
